Ildikó Oravecz (Ildi)
Living under a name that translates to “fierce warrior” in Hungarian can send many messages to a young girl transitioning from a host of divergent cultures throughout her life. For Ildi, it meant that success best happens when it is not built alone. Through a fierce and colorful past that began in South Africa, followed by part of her life in Hungary and then tiny Socorro, New Mexico, Ildi’s greatest philosophies were to listen to your gut, build a culture you believe in, and maintain a posture that promotes further enrichment.
Ildi translated those life lessons into her award-winning book, Tribal Abundance: Living Courageously in an Uncertain World. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation (ICF) as well as a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT). She is the recipient of the International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Award of Excellence for instructional design, and holds a Master’s degree in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies from the University of New Mexico.
Ildi’s gift back to the community has been realized through volunteer activities over the years, including being a Big Sister and numerous board positions and committee involvement. When not coaching, consulting, speaking, or writing, she balances her life by digging in her garden and enjoying life from her backyard patio, or going for walks with her husband, tending to three rescue dogs that watch her every move, and a wayward cat that lives on her front porch.
